9am - Sharon & Heath came to visit and stayed until 1pm. He ate a bit, not not really much.
4:30 - Becca came to visit for a few hours and tried to get him to eat; no luck.

Day of the move
Heath, Sharon, and Barb (Sharon's sister) were all at the hospital early in the morning to be available to help move Brian.
2:30pm - Caravan to Issaquah!
3:00pm - Checked in to the full time care facility, settling in to Room 230 (same as the house address in North Bend)
4:30pm - Becca came to check and see how things were going and to see where he was. We were able to get him to eat a few bites of a grilled cheese sandwich but that was all he ate in a few days. Still likes diet coke but that won't substain him for long..
He still sleeps alot and has a headache. Otherwise no other pain and still has a good attitude.

Memorial Day
9am - Sharon stayed with Brian most of the day and tried to get him to eat. He is still in the hospital and still not eating. IV is still needed daily. The doctor did say that he is leaving tomorrow now to go to the full time care facility as he is stable. He still has his strength and feeling on both sides.
3pm - Matt and Becca took him on a walk around the floor and he did it slowly but made it around! They watched some baseball and he did remember Becca played softball. Also Becca went out to make a call for about 20min and he noticed that she was gone for a bit!
It's still hard for him to remember anything but each day he does seem to remember a few more people from time to time.
6pm - Heath came to visit. Brian did recognize his youngest son!

9am - Time for the MRI to get a clearer picture of what is going on with the inflammation in his brain. We have to wait until Tuesday the 29th for his spinal tap results due to the holiday weekend. This will confirm 100% that it is encephalitis. Throughout the day Brian is mostly sleeping as he is extremely tired and complains only of a headache. He still has no memory of anything and believes he just got to the hospital. Everything he eats is the worst food ever and apple juice and diet coke seem to be the only drinks he will drink.
Visitor's today: Becca, Taylor, and Matt, Phil (Brian's good friend), Sharon, and Brandon
The doctors are still keeping the IV's going to keep him hydrated as he won't eat. They have said he will be in the hospital for a week and then moved to a full time care location for three weeks to continue the antibiotics.
We are continuing to pray for full recovery and for each day to be better than the last!

Thank you for checking out the site dedicated to our dad who is currently suffering from encephalitis. We will provide updates every few days, so please check back and see how this recovery is progressing.
We are not sure when Brian got sick, but it seems he didn't speak or text anyone after Tuesday the 22nd in the morning around 4:30am.
Day 1 in the hospital
10am - Becca (Brian's daughter) and Matt (his son-in-law) found Brian on his house boat in Seattle this Saturday morning. Brian was very dehydrated and confused. He didn't know where he was or who anyone was except for Becca.
12pm - After getting some fluids in him, it was clear there was something much more serious going on. Becca took him to Group Health in Bellevue and they started him on an IV right away.
7pm - Shelley (niece) and Brad (her fiance) came to visit and say hi.
7:30pm - Sharon (mom) came in to help answer any questions of his history and really helped out with what the doctors needed. She stayed with Brian until they transferred him to Overlake.
After multiple tests (CT scan, blood draws, chest x-ray) they came back and said there were some abnormalities in the CT scan and they needed to do a Spinal Tap and MRI. Unfortunately due to the dehydration they could not get the spinal tap for 4 hours. After 3 bags of fluid they were able to complete the spinal tap and it came back cloudy.
11pm - They moved him overnight to Overlake and said he had Encephalitis. We are not sure when he got it or really how, but at least we knew what was going on.
The staff was great and acted quickly on his behalf. We are grateful for all the support of the hospital staff, family and friends.
Continue to keep him in your prayers!! We are keeping visits to family for now, but once we feel he is ready to have more friends show up we will let you know!
